Founded in New York, RISE is purposeful in its mandate to reach, teach, and preach the gospel of redemption and the power of salvation, and to usher men and women into the presence of God through worship, fellowship, stewardship, and personal and community empowerment.
RISE seeks to reach people where they are, and offers sound teaching and a practical and relevant gospel. Teaching life & lifestyle and helping people of all ages and cultures to view life from God’s point of view is an important focus of this ministry. It is the belief of RISE Church that God wants His people to have dominion over the earth and to effectuate His power by taking full control of every aspect of its resources and society within our reach and control. To accomplish this, RISE is committed to recruit, train, and release children, youth, and adults who will not only propagate a gospel of salvation and empowerment, but will also lead by example and become testaments of God’s power to redeem, revive and rejuvenate fail, fragile, and feeble humans – transforming them into giants of courage, character, and capacity.
Our Leadership
Pastor Dennis carries a strong teaching anointing and has been in pastoral ministry for almost 40 years. He is an accomplished Bible scholar, community empowerment strategist, and publisher of The New York Christian Times newspaper as well as several books, magazines, and periodicals. He has provided leadership in several key corporate community economic benefit negotiations and has worked with many small businesses, community organizations, and major corporations, including Macy’s, McDonald’s, Chase, Citibank, AAA, and The Daily News, to bring resources and impact to local communities. He serves on several boards including the Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce and is the Global Convener for the DOOR of Our Return. In recognition of his work, he has been honored with well over 200 national and local awards including recently recognized as one of the top 10 New York leaders alongside Rev. Al Sharpton and New York Governor Cuomo.
Pastor Dennis is married to Dr. Zienzile Dillon and they are blessed with five children and five grandchildren.
